What and how can I communicate accessibility needs to MUM 2024 organizers?

At MUM 2024, our commitment is to ensure inclusivity for people with disabilities or special needs. It's crucial for participants with specific requests to inform us as soon as possible. Early notification improves our ability to effectively accommodate your needs. While we aim to fulfill every request, our ability to do so depends on the feasibility within the context of the event.

What are the options for getting to the conference venue?

There are elevators at the metro station and wheelchair access such as ramps and elevators at the side entrances of the venue. The main conference activities will take place on the first floor of the Nymble building (Drottning Kristinas Väg 15-19), with workshops on the second floor of the School of Architecture building (Osquars backe 5). For those who come by car and drive themselves, we will not be able to reserve a parking space in advance. It is possible to stop for a short time to get off and on the car, which is particularly useful for people bringing demos to unload and upload.

Will the conference be accessible by wheelchair or power scooter?

What are the arrangements for presenters with accessibility needs?

We will provide wireless microphones for all presenters. Should you require assistance with managing your presentation slides, navigating the stage, or have other specific needs, please contact the accessibility chair at accessibility2024@mum-conf.org.

Can I bring my guide dog?

Can the conference accommodate special dietary needs?

At MUM 2024, we ensure that our buffet lunches, beverage breaks, reception, and dinner cater to a range of dietary preferences, including vegetarian, gluten-free and vegan options. Will the conference be a smoke-free environment?

Smoking is not permitted inside the venue. We kindly request that smokers keep a distance from entrances and windows to maintain a comfortable environment for all attendees.

What if I have Covid-19/flu-like symptoms?

Should you experience any symptoms of illness (coughing, sneezing, feverishness, general lethargy, etc.), we kindly request that you remain at home or in your hotel room. On-site, FFP2 masks will be made available at the registration desk. We encourage you to consider utilising this offer during the conference days.

What if I have a medical emergency or health problem during the conference?

In the event of an emergency, dial 112 to call an ambulance. For non-urgent medical needs, our conference local organizers and student volunteers are ready to assist with information about local healthcare services.

Will there be loud music, strobe lighting, spotlights, or other strong sensory experiences?

There are no events planned that might involve loud music, strobe lights, or any other kind of strong sensory experience. A photographer will be present to capture moments during the conference. We do not anticipate activities that involve intense sensory inputs. However, for those requiring a quiet space, arrangements can be made by reaching out to the accessibility chair at accessibility2024@mum-conf.org.

We would like to make a general request to presenters not to include flashing or blinking video content on slides, if absolutely necessary please include a warning sign and give people time to step away.

Are there prayer rooms and quiet rooms?

For those in need of prayer rooms, the venue has designated space available in the D building. Please reach out to our general chair for access - general2024@mum-conf.org. There are a few quiet corners around the main conference hall where you can hide for a while, away from all the noise and lights.
